Rank in JEE Mains for the OBC category at 279,172 would mean the probability of getting a seat in the government college for Computer Science Engineering (CSE) in top institutes is very low. Top NITs and IIITs take students who have ranks from 10,000 to 30,000 in CSE. But chances are available in low-ranking NITs or government-funded technical institutes providing CSE in the OBC category. It is advisable to look for options like state government engineering colleges, private universities, or new institutes. Also, one can appear for other entrance exams or apply for branch sliding in later years.
