Fashion Design at LPU is a programme that combines creativity with technical skills to prepare students for careers in the fashion industry. It focuses on developing students' abilities to design original, innovative fashion collections, create patterns, and use modern technology to craft clothing and accessories.Syllabus of the Fashion Design Entrance Exam at LPU (LPUNEST)The entrance exam for Fashion Design at LPU (LPUNEST) is designed to assess a candidate's creativity, design aptitude, and general awareness in the field of fashion. It typically consists of the following sections:1. General Knowledge and Current AffairsThis section tests your awareness of current events, especially those related to the fashion industry, global fashion trends, and cultural developments.2. Creative and Visual AbilityThis section is aimed at evaluating your creativity, imagination, and visual understanding. It includes tasks like sketching or interpreting given visuals, designing outfits, and working with shapes and colors. You may be asked to create patterns or illustrations based on specific themes.3. Aptitude for DesignThis section tests the candidate's understanding of basic design concepts, such as color theory, proportions, and textures. It  It also assesses your ability to think critically and solve design problems.4. English and General AwarenessA basic English section tests your comprehension and language skills. Additionally, general awareness questions may include topics related to fashion history, prominent designers, and industry-related terminology.5. Fashion Design Questions (Optional) Some years may include specific questions based on fashion design theory or practical knowledge, including questions on textiles, garment construction, and fashion history.          

Typically, the exam takes place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The candidates have to finish answering 110 questions in the allotted time. Since the IIFT exam has no sectional time limit, unlike the CAT or XAT, candidates are free to use the two hours however best suits their exam plan. The cut-offs are based on CAT 2023 since admission to the batch of 2024–2026 will be determined by that score. The sectional cut-off for the general category for the 2024–2026 batch is 55, while the composite cut-off is 30%. The sectional cutoff for Gen-EWS/OBC-NCL is 50, while the composite cutoff is 25%. The IIFT paper is sometimes regarded as being more difficult than the CAT exam, highlighting the significance of practice and time management abilities.

LPU is running 3 Graduate programs in Fashion Design. B.Sc. (Design - Fashion), Duration : 3 years. (6 Semesters)
Eligibility Criteria (Qualifying Exam): Pass with 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPU NEST or UCEED or Under Graduate NID that (Prelims) or Under Graduate NIFT. For a candidate, who has not studied English as a subject, the condition of English may be waived off provided the candidate in his qualifying exam has studied in English medium. (5% relaxation to North-East states and Sikkim candidates or Defence Personnel and their Dependents or Wards of Kashmir Migrants)
