If you have done a 3-year Diploma in fashion design, you can pursue a B.Design course from NIFT through the lateral entry mode. The lateral entry mode is a special admission process for students who have already completed a Diploma or equivalent course in the same field.To be eligible for the lateral entry mode, you must have a Diploma in fashion design from a recognised institute. You must also have a minimum of 50% marks in your diploma.The application process for the lateral entry mode is the same as the regular admission process. You can apply online through the NIFT website.The selection process for the lateral entry mode includes a written test, a portfolio review, and an interview. The written test will be on the basics of fashion design. The portfolio review will assess your creativity and technical skills. To pursue fashion designing, you can opt for any stream in class 11. The most crucial requirements for aspirants are basic knowledge of design, good observation skill, creative thinking capability, and confidence in interactions. If you have these qualities, then it will be helpful in building your name in the industry. Moreover not all the schools or +2 colleges provide specific subject for fashion designing. The available subjects for Fashion Designing in Class 11 are Home Science, Visual Arts, Textile Design, and Garment Design. Look for schools and junior colleges providing these subjects. National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Gandhinagar offers a one-year diploma course in Fashion Designing. The course covers a wide range of topics, including fashion history, design theory, textile science, and garment construction. NIFT Gandhinagar placements 2020 data is not out yet. During NIFT Gandhinagar placements 2019, over 200 students got placed in the companies such as Flipkart, Honda Cars, Whirlpool, Westside, Samsung, TVS Motors, Shoppers Stop, Timex, etc.
