Fashion Design is the creation of original designs in such things as garments, footwear, jewelries, luggage, such accessories, etc. The minimum eligibility needed for applying to the course is the successful completion of the 10+2 level of education from a recognized educational Board, in any discipline, and with a minimum aggregate score of 50%. As it is a UG course of 4 years, eligibility for this is that you have completed class 12th and after that you will get admission on the basis on FDDI rank, and it is totally a rank based procedure, as if you have given the exam, then you have to give the counselling fee by the 1st week of July to get your rank in the counselling rounds.

In my opinion the minimum qualification for fashion designing is 10+2 qualification and for further query, you can visit particular college that you want to take admission.

NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology) conducts a written test for granting lateral entry admission to candidates who have completed their Diploma/degree in relevant/related fields of fashion design and technology for direct admission to the third semester of UG programmes of NIFT at NIFT campuses. Those who will get selected through lateral entry will join the regular UG students of NIFT in their second year for seats listed in Annexure III of the official notification.
