TEXTILE DESIGNERS-
A textile designer creates pattern, designs for fabric and also develops fabric. The textile designers also do embellishment of fabrics. They have to select yarn, color for the yarn, and dyes for making new fabrics. Before the start of the process, textile designers also have to source the raw material for the new fabric and have to instruct the weavers, knitters on proper way to make the fabric, they have designed. The fabrics developed by textile designers are used for clothes, carpets and other such creations. Some textile designers also work with finished fabrics. They choose the prints, which are printed on the fabrics. They also keep in mind that the fabric has to be cost effective and suitable under the weather conditions in the country. Textile designers usually work for textile designing companies, textile design firms to develop raw material for fashion designers.
FASHION DESIGNER-
Fashion designers use the fabric developed by the textile designer to create new designs for clothes. Their imagination see a design, they sketch it with colors on the paper and then give shape to their imagination by selecting fabric for the making new designed clothes. The fashion designers these days work on accessories, bags, footwear, kid's clothes, and on whole lot of items used by men, women and kids. A fashion designer has to work hard to source the fabric for the design he or she wants to create the physical samples of the clothes or accessories. They either stitch the pieces together or hire team of pattern makers or seamstress to give shape to the finished sample. And finally, the sample is reproduced by factories for users. Fashion designers work in garment designing and making companies, designing firms and can set up their own business.
