It is definitely possible, but each fashion institute has its own eligibility criteria. Some may allow admission to a candidate hailing from any educational background while others would prefer a candidate who has done graduation in design field itself. You will have to check the criteria of all the colleges that you are interested in. For example: Pearl Academy will not consider your application for the Masters programme, but NID and NIFT would accept the application as the admission criteria is solely dependent on how you perform in the entrance exam. Many institutes in India offer Fashion Design programmes like NIFT, IIAD, Pearl Academy etc. Starting salaries can vary depending upon which industry sector you choose to work in. That is a very interesting query, because most people tend to concentrate on Fashion Design. What people forget that India has glorious tradition of a textiles which is far, far older than fashion. India has always been a world leader in textiles from almost the time of Harappan Civilisation. Even today, India is very well placed in export markets because of its textile manufacturing and design capacities. Government policies are also very conscious of the importance of Textiles to our exports, GDP as well livelihoods and we have a full-fledged Ministry of Textiles (Minister Smriti Irani) and a textile handicrafts commission as well. To stay updated on Fashion Trends, fashion magazines like the ones you have listed are a good starting point. You could also look at other magazines like Elle, Verve, Cosmopolitan, Vogue etc. There are also many sites online that you can access and you can also look at Fashion blogs like Missmalini. Com. There are dedicated trend forecasting sites like WGSN and Business of Fashion that you can become a member of and keep yourself updated. Besides these, a general awareness about the trends in lifestyle and technology would also help. Keep your eyes and ears open.

It depends on the institute from where you choose to do your degree or course in Fashion Management. If this programmes is offered through a Design Institute, there may be a creative component involved (though not necessarily sketching and painting). If the course is offered through a Management Institute, this component may be even lesser. That said, in my personal opinion, for a degree or certification in Fashion Management, you don't need to know how to draw and paint, but you must have a sense and understanding of Fashion and Aesthetics.

Hi Ajay Mishra,
The major problem is definitely tailoring as it includes accurately cut out clothes. And, it is expensive and it cannot really be done on a large scale alone. You can refer to the interior designers or college alumni of various colleges who writes various blogs. They would surely share their experiences.
