It is advised that you initially clear 12th and prepare for FTII entrance. Once you clear the exam, you can get into the top institute of India. and pursue a course in direction.

Kindly suggest in which field do you wish to get into. There are many fields listed below:

2. Producer
3. Set Designer
4. Costume Design
5. Prop Master
6. Actor and many more.

Actually there is not a prescribed syllabus for FTII entrance. You should have a basic knowledge about what's happening around you.
1.Newspapers and Magazines
2. Art forms, folklore their origins.
3. Articles on films
4. CBSE textbooks on social sciences , chapters on cultural heritage.
5. Keep updated on National Awards,Oscars.
6. There must be some films or filmmakers about whom you can go on writing. Your favourite movie is a definite question .
7. Form a personal opinion on films.

Film making involves a lot of fields like editing, cinematography, sound design etc. A director or a filmmaker is like the captain who directs all the people involved to his vision of the film.
You can learn basic filmmaking by reading books and from the internet. And, if you want to join a institute, there is FTII in pune.
