I do not know the course you are interested in joining at FTII. For all the courses the written test is in specific area including General Knowledge and General Mental Ability, except for screen play where written test is on screen play writing.

To clear the test, you should make yourself well versed in the history of indian cinema, music, literature and art, basics of photogaphy and cinematography, knowledge on recent events and developments in literature and cinema. You may get few questions like writing the sound track for a particular situation, writing a story from a picture, drawing a different view for a given picture, etc.
For the presentation, skills matter and your attitude and passion for the field. You may be asked to give a portfolio of your work at the time of Interview. Read as many articles and lots of literature. Read about important figures in the Art and Culture world in India, including famous people of the past.
Also, your general knowledge about current events is what they want to see. So, as much as you can practice and of course watch loads of movies, do.

Art directors usually begin as entry-level artists in:
1. Advertising.
2. Publishing.
3. Design, and
4. Motion Picture Production Firms.
Artists are promoted to Art Director after demonstrating artistic and leadership abilities.
Some Art Schools offer coursework in Art Direction as part of their curriculum. Depending on the scope of their responsibilities, some Art Directors also may pursue a degree in Art Administration, which teaches non-artistic skills such as Project Management and Finance.
An Art Director is an individual who supervises the artistic direction of a creative project. The assignments can range from:
1. Book Designing at a small Publishing Company.
2. Designing Corporate Advertisements.
3. Deciding the Visual Look and feel of a Movie.
Any business that requires a great deal of Artistic Talent to arrive at a specific design for a finished product will most likely have an Art Director in the team to ensure that each assignment successfully meets the mandatory requirements.
Educational Requirements: Art director positions typically require a Bachelor's degree in an Art or Design major such as:
1. Fine Arts.
2. Visual Communications.
3. Digital Media.
Depending on their industry, Art Directors may have several years of work experience in Graphic Design, Photography, Illustration or other fields. Some Art Directors pursue a Master's Degree in Fine Arts or Business Administration to prepare for a leadership role. There are several courses like:
