Having a degree will not ensure any job in the film industry. The degree will familiarize you with the film making process and will also serve as an evidence that you have knowledge about the field. But this field has cut throat competition and you have to make you own space with your hard work and dedication. It is not easy to make a career in the film industry and you really have to put your heart and soul to this career to be successful.

It is not important that every 12th passing student goes for engineering or medical. Now a days job in engineering is really less jobs as if a student is unable to get good college then it is really difficult for them to get job in future. Acting schools are mostly expensive only. Even a short term course of 3 months might cost you around 60-70K at least. You can rather get associated with some theater group and learn the skills of acting from them. Joining a theater group will not be a cheaper option but will also enhance your skills as a whole.

You really need to give it all your hard work and dedication to make your place and carve a niche in the field. It is also advisable to keep an alternate career ready with you so that you can at least survive. Once you complete your BFA in film making, you can expect to have a career as a director, editor, producer, screenplay writer, soundman, cameraman etc.
