Firstly, the requirement of Financial Modelling is very much even at Bachelor's level. However, it may (or may not) be necessary to have certification on Financial Modelling. Secondly, since you are willing to take your major as Finance and minor as business analyst, you will be taught the business modelling as a part of your course. Although, if you have much deeper interest in that, it is advisable to go for it. Learn Data Analytics, Financial Modelling etc. Hope this helps. Upvote that if it's your answer. Good Luck.

For a finance student, learning the financial modelling is a must. Not just for the investment banking professionals but also useful for Financial Analyst, Finance managers, portfolio managers, equity (or derivatives) analyst to make the finance model for further decision making. It is advisable to learn the finance modelling in the very 1st semester of your PGDM. It helps you to secure better summer internship offers. To learn financial modelling, what you all just need to be is good in statistics (Maths), spreadsheets, quantitative analysis at major level. Hope this helps.

You don't need to be confused. If you are willing to make career in Finance then you 'must' have to learn financial modelling. It's not a degree but a short term course which you can learn from anywhere (like investopedia or corporate finance institute etc. ). If you want to make career as a financial analyst (that's very promising and technical branch of finance) then doing CFA would be extremely grateful to you however, MBA Finance is helpful if you want to became finance manager. Dear Aayush! What you all just need is to identify your interest and capabilities. My suggestion is that you start learn Financial Modelling. I

I would like to say that every institute has its pros and cons. It totally depends on how you grasp the course curriculum. Naming a few good institutes with good faculty and placement track records:-
1. EduPristine
2. IMS proschool
3. Cf institute
4. Ib institute
5. National Institute of Financial Management (This institute has many branches. Vaishali's branch is the best from the lot.)

Absolutely Yes! Learning financial modeling is extremely help helpful to you and will secure the job tight after your MBA. Since you are from & pursuing finance stream (I hope), learning financial modeling will helps to get the job the post of assistant financial analyst or manger, f lending upon what other skills you have. Prabhuling, it is very much necessary to check the Institute ( or website) from where you are supposed to learn this. They shod have expertise in that feild.
