Both, the University of Florida and Florida State University are ranked among the top universities in the USA. If we compare the world ranking of both universities then according to US News & World Report 2023, the University of Florida world ranking is among the top 100 universities in the world and ranks #98. The Florida State University world ranking by US News is #241. The University of Florida is better than FSU in terms of ranking.

According to QS World University Ranking 2024, Florida State University QS ranking is among the top 500 universities in the USA. Currently, the FSU ranking is #461 in the world for the 2024 edition. Florida State University's world ranking had seen a decline in QS rankings from #475 in 2022 to #511-520 in 2023. However, in 2024 it again recovered from its rankings in 2023.
