There is no upper age limit for the FMGE Exam. Students who are eligibile on the basis of educational background can appear in the exam. It means, you should have a valid MBBS degree from a recognised medical college. In easy words, as long as you have a valid MBBS degree or equivalent from a recognised institution, you are eligible to appear for the FMGE, regardless of your age.

There is no limit on number of attempts for a student. Any applicant can appear for the FMGE exam as many times as they want. However, it should be kept in mind that once a candidate qualifies for this exam, he or she cannot appear for it again.

FMGE exam is a medical licensing exam. If the candidate has completed his undergraduate medical studies from abroad and wants to study further in India, he must qualify for the FMGE examination. However, candidates with an undergraduate medical degree from New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the United States of America or the United Kingdom, are exempted from FMGE.

If you do not plan to practice medicine in India, then you do not need to take the FMGE. The FMGE is mandatory for Indian citizens and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) who wish to obtain a license to practice medicine in India after completing their medical education abroad. Regarding the USMLE, if you pass all the steps of the USMLE that are required and you get your medical license in the United States, you are exempt from taking the FMGE for practising in India. Yes, if your FMGE exam application is rejected, you can appear for the exam next year. Because the National Medical Commission (NMC) allows you to try six times even after your application form is rejected for the FMGE exam.

Candidates are advised to complete their MBBS degree programme by October 31, 2024 and must submit a proof of passing the same while applying for the FMGE exam. If any applicants fail to substantiate their claim of having passed the primary medical qualification by the above mentioned prescribed cut off date with supportive documents, his/her candidature shall be cancelled.

The cutoff marks are the minimum marks which applicants need to secure to pass the exam. There are various factors which determine the cutoff marks of FMGE exam. Since FMGE exam is conducted for a total of 300 marks hence applicants need to secure the minimum passing marks.

Yes, the exam conducting authorities releases the cutoff marks for FMGE. Applicants need to secure the minimum passing marks to qualify the exam. The exam is conducted for 300 marks and the FMGE cutoff marks is 150.

No, the exam centres are assigned by the exam conducting authorities after lots of debate & discussions hence one can not make a request to change the exam centre. If there is any emergency then applicants can make an attempt of changing exam centre address by sending an email or calling the helpline numbers and tell them about their problem.
