Food technology and biochemical engineering is about the science of food and processes involved in food making and production. Food technology and biochemical engineering help devise technology to battle situations like deteriorating food security, depleting energy sources, etc.

You surely try taking admission in food biotechnology but it'll not be an advisable step because food biotechnology is mostly biology and chemistry whereas you have a background in mechanical. So I think mechatronics will be a better option for you.
PS: food technology as a course is not available in ADYPU. We have food biotechnology.
