The duration of the course is two years. The candidates for this course must be Indian citizens. Also, you must have achieved a minimum of 50% in your graduation. In 10+2 level, you should have undertaken the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Some of the food technology colleges and universities in India are University of Calcutta, Delhi School of Home Economics, Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Tamil Nadu GD Naidu Agricultural University, and so on.

Step I: Qualify the Food Inspector Exam conducted by Union Service Public Service Commission.
Education Essentials-
Graduates in medicine with minimum one year training in food inspection
Bachelors degree in any science stream with Chemistry as compulsory subject
Bachelors degree in Agriculture / Public Health/ Veterinary Science/Dairy Technology/Pharmacy / Food Technology
Age limit-
21 and 30 years for general candidates.
Upper age limit specified for OBC candidates is 33 years and for SC/ST candidates is 35 years.
Only Indian Citizens can apply for this test.
