In order to become a forest ranger in India, aspirants have to clear the Forest Rangers exam conducted by the State Public Service Commission. Professionals who have cleared the test may have to attend a personal interview subsequently. Aspirants who clear all these formalities can expect employment as Forest Rangers.
Key points in the process:
Complete the 12 years of schooling.
Pursue a Bachelors degree in Forestry, Natural Resource Management or concerned areas.
Satisfy the physical standards of fitness.
Apply for the Forest Rangers Exam.

You can become a forest officer after qualifying in the IFS Examination.
IFS Stands Indian Forest Service.

Normal B.Sc. programs are 3 years long. But B.Sc. Forestry program is 4 years long. It is an Undergraduate Degree program. The 4 year duration is divided into 8 semesters, each semester lasting 6 months.
The main aim of this program is to train students to become Forestry professionals. The tasks of forestry professional are- conserving forest and forest resources, conserving and protecting wildlife, manage forest resources, develop forest and forest resources etc. This program trains students and instils skills in them, which will help them perform the above mentioned tasks.
