The university of Montreal is acctually a french langauge university and yes most of the courses are taught in french. However, students need not be a bilingual or french speaking to study at the university. As they are departments in Montreal which teach in English. Hence while applying students are suggested to check with administartion office.

As per JNU's last cutoff list released for BA (Hons) courses, the cutoff marks for BA (Hons) in French was 76.

Not all the courses at the University of Montreal are taught in French. While the university operates French, and offers a wide variety of courses in French, there are also courses that are available in English. Gradually, the University of Montreal has been expanding its offerings to cater to a more diverse student body. Various faculty members and departments provides courses entirely in English especially at the graduate level. In short, the university aims to accommodate both Anglophone and Francophone students, offering a variety of options to meet the academic preferences and needs.

International students need to demonstrate English language proficiency to secure admission to McGill University. McGill is accepting IELTS or TOEFL score for giving admission to international students.
