To register to any course, you will have to submit your original documents. I would request you to please inform your college about your discontinuing of course. Covering up all the formalities with college will help you get your original documents back.

No, doing this will only validate your degree, as according to governments new rules, doing distance courses is a little bit difficult, as the government is shutting down these type of courses.

It is possible to pursue 2 courses together. However, one has to decide which course to pursue as a regular mode of learning and which from distance / correspondence. There is difference in Correspondence and Regular course; I would say it varies from one subject to the other also from one degree to the other. However, in general a course through distance learning does not have as much value as the regular one. So, if you can do a regular course, it would hold a lot of importance and thus be a much better option. You have to appear for entrance exams to pursue B.Tech and M.Tech through regular mode and admission in distance mode is on percentage basis.

Regular B.Tech is more effective as compare to distance. Generally, working people opts for distance B.Tech. For class 12th pass out students regular B.Tech is better.

5 years dual degree programme combines the courses of B.Tech / BE and M.Tech / ME, whereas regular B.Tech is a 4 year course. If you wish to pursue M.Tech, after regular B.Tech, you need to spend another 2 years adding to a total of 6 years whereas you get the same qualification in just 5 years with the integrated courses. However, not all colleges provide integrated courses. So, with limited seats, the competition gets tougher.
