If you've pursued UG degree which has recognised by UGC means, Ex, Annamalai, Bangalore University, etc. Definitely, you're eligible for further Master's and PG programs.

Yes, it is accepted for that. Also it varies from college to college. But in majority of the cases it is accepted. Go ahead with the same.
