Getting admission into G.S.V.M. Medical College is very hard and challenging because it is a very well-established and renowned medical institution. The admission is based on NEET scores, and for getting a seat one requires performing well in getting a good rank. Competition is acute since seats available in MBBS are very few while applicants are many. A good academic record in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, coupled with good performances in the NEET exams, would ensure a good selection. In that respect, the difficulty level may change every year.

The mess in the hostels is found satisfactory by the students in G.S.V.M. Medical College, as it provides nutritious and hygienic food. The mess mainly provides vegetarian food to the students. The menu here is so framed so that a student's dietary requirement can be taken into account, like preparing rice, chapati, vegetables, and dal. It may not have the same taste for all of the students, but the college ensures there is a hygienic and clean environment. Students are encouraged to provide feedback on whether the meals meet their expectations and whether they have any preferences, which can then be accommodated.

There is no classical placement cell in G.S.V.M. Medical College as exists in engineering or management colleges because the recruitment process for medical education is different from others. The college, however, offers excellent career opportunity in the form of clinical training and internships, which students can acquire as a practical experience. Most of the MBBS graduates join the sector of healthcare; many pursue postgraduate studies, government services, or work in hospitals, clinics, and research institutions. Strong alumni networks guide and offer employment opportunities to the college.

The choice of candidates for admission to the MBBS course is through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET. Candidates applying should have completed their 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The minimum marks required in the 10+2 examination are as per the NEET prospectus. Candidates are given seats based on their NEET rank scores and are called for counseling accordingly. It depends upon the rank, college selected at counselling, and availability of seats in the MBBS course.
