Game Design and Development

Starting from the point of view, Hacking doesn't requires eligibility of academics. Hacking is just a skill which requires, Coding Knowledge, Network Knowledge, Server side Scripting Knowledge, Computer Hardware Knowledge and Testing Knowledge. Coming to the part, if you saw the articles, the children are around 5-11 years of age are hacking networks, finding zero day flaws in software etc. So, this shows hacking doesn't require any academic courses. Learning hacking through any certification such as EC - Council CEH, (ISC) 2s CISSP, CISA and CISM from ISACA and OSCP from Offensive Security will improve the professional skills of hacking. For Game designing:
It's good that you are starting, when you are young. The first thing is that you should know what game design is actually about. You can read the book "The Art of Game Design" by Jesse Shell. If you are really think that this what you want to do then read on. Otherwise check out other fields in gaming such as art and programming. Learn some basic coding, preferably in C+. Also get hold of a game development suite such as Game Maker, Unity or Cocos2D. I personally use Unity because of their great asset store and user community. Start making games on these platforms. They should be simple enough! Don't go off thinking that I have this great idea for a super game that will make millions and start off biting more off than you can chew. This kind of attitude would portray you as a quintessential amateur gamer. Also start paying close attention to the mechanics of every game you play, whether it be on mobile, tablet, PC or console. Question everything that you come across - how is the combat system designed, why are the rewards structured as such. Etc.

Relevant educational qualification in the fields of animation, graphic designing, game designing/ technology, etc. is necessary for obtaining an excellent career in gaming industry. Those interested in pursuing a career in gaming industry, should focus on gaining awareness with computer programming in an object-oriented language such as C+ or Java, from their high school level, so that they can build a bright future for themselves.
Several certificate and Diploma programmes in game designing are offered by various institutions. Advanced Diploma in Game Design; Diploma in Game Design and Gaming; Video Game Design and Development Certification; Video Game Design and Development, etc. are some among the courses. The minimum eligibility required for most of these courses is 10+2 or its equivalent. For becoming a Game programmer, one should have B.E/ B.Tech degree in computer engineering. Online programs are also available in game design and animation. Those with an inborn desire to learn gaming and excellent technical skills can excel in this field.
Good working knowledge of the game designing software's is a must for a career in game industry. Once you decide on the platform - I.e. 2D or 3D you want to pursue, you should get familiar with its applications - 2D designing software's such as or 3D applications like 3D Max/ Maya/ XSI, Light wave 3D, Cinema 4D etc. And computer graphics, data structures etc. They should also be exposed to art, literature, philosophy and history as it helps to create games with specific cultural touch to a particular region/country or people living in various parts of the world.
Personal Attributes - Strong interest and liking for the games is the first and foremost thing needed for an individual to become an expert professional in the gaming industry. Candidates who wish to make a career in game designing should be innovative, creative, systematic, dedicated and have a clear understanding of common game mechanics and game play theory. One should possess the art of sketching or drawing and have a sound understanding of anatomy of humans, animals or birds and body movements and lighting effects. Game designing is a field which requires a keen eye for detail, loads of patience, excellent communication and presentation skills. A game designer must have a good sense of colour, proportion, size, design, visualization, knowledge of background, art and layout.

As it is your life and your career, you would be in a better position to understand what to do and what not, because I won't be knowing what are your motives. Still, as per my way, try assessing yourself and your skills-what do you need to make a career in game development. GameDev consists of various fields- computer animation, character modelling, skinning and rigging, motion capture, texture generation (Substance Designer domain), game engines, scripting, backed stuff in game development, 3D architecture Modelling and a lot of other fields. It would be better if you acquire the knowledge of various softwares, not extensively, but enough to make you not start from scratch, like Blender, Autodesk range of products, Substance Designer and many things. And do at least one certification course of game development, I recommend checking the Game Design and Development certification on Coursera by Michigan State University. Then create some projects, apply for an internship, and you will have no problem going into GameDev job.
