Game design Scope

 I think the first thing that stands out is that this isn’t a traditional college. There are very few fairs or events that take place. I would say maybe once or twice a year. There are no clubs or organizations so don’t go expecting stuff that is usually traditional in other colleges. As of the time writing this answer, they did away with the B.Tech degree and are instead giving a B.Sc. (honors) degree in computer Science and game development which is also 4 years. The college is now affiliated with JNAFAU so if you’re worried about the degree not being recognized, you can put those to rest because the degree is recognised both in India and Abroad. In fact, if you’re planning to go for higher education after your undergraduate then you can opt for this programme if that’s your eventual goal. Now with that out of the way, let’s actually get into the college as a whole.

The faculty members are from the industry like red chilies Studios, Prime focus studios and they have experience of more than 15 years. The multimedia department has a separate block and has well-equipped labs with dell workstations to handle high-end software like adobe after effects, Unity Maya, Cinema 4D, 3ds Max, Nuke, Fusion, Z brush, photoshop, etc. Even the department has good quality of resources like Black magic cinemas cameras, canon cameras, trolly, jib, and well-equipped special VFX studio with permanent Chroma backgrounds. Placements are also great. This year also his friends and juniors got placed in companies like Amazon, rockstar games, Kony India, Xentrix studios, Lolly POP Design Studio etc. With average packages of 5 Lacs per annum and maximum packages are 8 to 10 Lacs

IIT is a brand name and anything you learn from an IIT has its own scope. However, it is not a must to go to an IIT to learn game design. As you can see people are learning game design even from the internet. But, procuring a degree from a design college is a good idea as it adds value and gives you a complete idea of the practical challenges you might face once you start designing the game, market culture, challenges and trends of the industry etc. A real life hands on experience in a well-established studio and thorough coaching from the professionals is always a plus point.
