Please visit this page to know more:
http://www.icat.ac.in/msc-game-technology-degree-course.asp
ICAT offers M.Sc Game Technology - A two year full time Masters Degree awarded by Bharathiar University. The program allows a student to choose one of the following three elective subjects as a specialization. They are
1. Game Design
2. Game Programming
3. UI Design and Development
I can confidently say that as on date this is the only Masters program in India which has a UID specialization and is one of the fewest full-time Master degree programs offered in India.

It is recommended that you do Bachelor in animation, multimedia or game designing to increase your own career prospects and knowledge. You may also do a Diploma but then entry level jobs will be there and career growth will be minimum. Read this, it may be helpful:

Mam, if your son has interest in game designing, then he can join animation courses conducted by institutes like Arena Animation institute or design institutes. He can also pursue B.Tech in IT after class 12th to get more scope and opportunities. For animation colleges, you can refer to the below link.

It is not necessary to join IIT to become a game or software application designer. B.Tech CSE/IT or MCA from a decent college with good development experience is the foundation step to become a designer.
