Game industry is very wide. For that first you have to strong concepts on physics and Maths like vectors, matrices, gravity, momentum, inertia, these concepts really help you in game concept. Strong command on programming language basic knowledge on came, scene etc. There is one subject named computer graphics read it properly by that u can get command on 2D and 3D.

It will be better if you do lateral entry B.Tech as you have already done polytechnic and there will be wide opportunities for you.
