GATE Application Process

GATE is a national-level examination that aims to evaluate the knowledge and aptitude of candidates in preparation for admission to engineering and management programmes. GATE Application Process 2025 began on August 28, 2024. Earlier, the deadline for registering for the GATE was October 3, 2024 (without late fees). However, The last date to fill the application form was extended with late fees till October 11, 2024. Candidates were able to fill out the GATE Application Form 2025 by visiting the official website; i.e. gate2025.iitr.ac.in. 

Category certificate is required to avail the concession in application fee. OBC candidates who want to appear in the GATE examination need to submit their category certificate at the time of registration. When it comes to filling in the application form, there is a certain relaxation in fees for category students. To avail the concession, candidates need to showcase their OBC certification.  

Candidates can choose several papers with GATE CS (computer science) paper according to new GATE 2025 two paper combination, Subjects are listed below;DA: Data Science and Artificial IntelligenceEC: Electronics and Communication EngineeringMA: MathematicsPH: PhysicsST: StatisticsCandidates should know that other subjects may be added or removed later by the authorities, Authorities are solely responsible for any chane in the two paper combination.

Yes, Candidates can change their examination city after filling up the GATE application form 2025, candidates have to pay a fee for making the correction . Candidates needs to pay INR 500 for as correction charges.

Yes, Candidates will be given a correction window to change/ modify the already filled details in GATE application form. Candidates can change the subjects for an additional fee during the correction window. Candidates will not be able edit any detail after the correction window is closed. 

Candidates must know that by doing so their application form will be marked DEFECTIVE. Candidates will be intimated by email, SMS or phone call from your respective Zone to RECTIFY your DEFECT (by uploading a new photograph). Candidates will be given chances for rectification up to the deadline, beyond which your application will either be considered as PROVISIONAL or REJECTED. 

Candidate must upload the photo ID with old name along with an affidavit. Otherwise, his/her application will either be considered as PROVISIONAL or REJECTED. Also, he/she must carry an affidavit along with the photo ID to the examination hall. 

Yes, Candidates will be given a correction window to change/ modify the already filled details in GATE application form. Only after the last date for application submission, a request for the change of examination city will be entertained against additional payment till the correction window is open.
