GATE Eligibility

You cannot write GATE in 3rd year of B.Tech. You can opt for GATE in the final year of engineering, or if you have already passed your engineering.

Hello Aakash, For GATE you need four year's Bachelors course. If your B.Sc. Is of four years then you are eligible.

Hello Hardik,
As you are pursuing B.Sc degree, you will be eligible for GATE Exam only after an M.Sc degree.
Those who have completed B.Tech / BE and B.Arch are only directly eligible for GATE.
So, after doing an M.Sc, you may appear for GATE.

Final year student or graduate of Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in engineering/ architecture or Master's degree (or equivalent) in science, computer applications, etc. can appear for GATE.

GATE is an entrance exam for doing PG in engineering. Eligibility for this is Graduation in engineering. Since you have done B Sc, you are not eligible to appear for GATE.

GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) is open now. You may submit your application at http://gate.iitg.ac.in/

Eligibity criteria for appearing on GATE is that candidate must have completed Bachelors degree in Engineering/ Technology (4 years after 10+2 or 3 years after B.Sc./Diploma in Engineering/ Technology) and those who are in the final year of such programs. Even if you had backs, you are eligible to appear for GATE.
