GATE Pattern

Two new subjects – Geomatics Engineering (GE) and Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (NM) are introduces in the syllabus. The total number of subjects in GATE 2025 exam has increased to 30. In another newly introduced change, students applying for GATE EXAM 2025 can also opt for two different papers from the prescribed set of combinations.The application form and information brochure has been released on its official website. The GATE 2025 application form was released on August 28, 2024 and the last date to submit the application form is September 26, 2024. As per the GATE 2025 information brochure, there is no change in the GATE exam pattern.

GATE is conducted every year by one of the IITs. In 2025, GATE is being conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology  (IIT), Roorkee. It will be conducted in various cities across the country.  The GATE 2025 exam pattern has been released. There are no major changes in the exam pattern from last year. It describes the basic structure of the question paper and contains details including the number of questions, marks, duration, etc. The question paper will comprise Multiple-choice (MCQ), Multiple Select (MSQ), and Numerical Answer Type NAT questions.
