The GATE Biotechnology question paper consists of three types of questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Choice Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions. Candidates have to answer a total of 65 questions, which will be mainly based on GATE Biotechnology Syllabus 2025.The test papers will be in English. Each GATE 2025 paper is for a total of 100 marks, General Aptitude (GA) is common for all papers (15 marks), and the rest of the paper covers the respective test paper syllabus (85 marks). Two new subjects – Geomatics Engineering (GE) and Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (NM) are introduces in the syllabus. The total number of subjects in GATE 2025 exam has increased to 30.  Apart from General Aptitude and B1 section, there are 6 sections XH paper. Each of the optional sections of the XH paper (Sections C1 through C6) contains 39 questions carrying 60 marks. There are three types of questions asked in the GATE exam namely Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), Numerical Answer Type Questions (NAT). Every question will be of either 1 or 2 marks. 2 marks question generally more difficult and lengthier.
