Firstly start by checking out the whole GATE Syllabus and analyze the GATE Exam Pattern. Give more mock tests. Be confident in your preparation strategy. You can purchase online courses and test series for practice tests.

Greetings Jayanth, you may consult any no. Of books prior to the test but it can be quite exhausting to go through X no. Of books so it's better to precisely focus on only few books. So here are the some of the best materials
- Digital logic and Number representation by Morris Mano
- Software Engineering: A practitioner's Approach by Pressman
- Theory of Computer Science: Automata, Languages and Computation by Mishra KLP
- GATE Practice Sets by Pearson.

You just need to download syllabus, have a look ATIT and then decide the pace at which you want to cover all topics. You can prepare for GATE 2022 by both means. If you want to prepare by coaching then prefer Made easy institute as it only provides the coaching for GATE exam. The cut off varies yearly to get admission in IITs. It depends on the branch and level of the exam. On an average the marks required to get admission in IITs is around 28-40 depending upon the categories, branch and exam level.
