Being one of the most important engineering exams, GATE witnesses a number of candidates every year. You should study with a strategy and focus on clearing your basics. Hello,I can understand your situation. But, let me say that both things can go on simultaneously. Your preparation for GATE will never go waste. However, if you want to go abroad for MS then please do go to an agency dealing with sending students abroad for MS. This is so since there are many nuances other than academics. Best wishes to you.

It is totally up to you. If you want than you can get good rank in JEE and go into IITS or NITs and grab the placements. Rather than take admission in any state Government College and prepare for GATE and take PSUS.
