It depends on your objectives. Comparing them would not be fair because they are both distinct tests with distinct fields. While GATE is centered on an in-depth understanding of technical disciplines, CAT is founded on a solid foundation of mathematics, English and analytical skills. GATE is a pathway to an MBA, whereas CAT is for an M.Tech.

There is no restriction on the number of times one can take the GATE exam. The number of GATE attempts that may be made is entirely up to the individual. While some PSUs may list 28 or 30 as the maximum age, the number of GATE exam tries required for admission to research and post-graduate seats is totally up to the institution.

BARC OCES Conducting Body: Bhabha Atomic Research Center. Exam Duration: 2 hours (120 minutes). Number of Questions: 100
Exam Mode: CBT. Question Type: MCQ. Selection Process: Written Exam and Interview. Selection Process:
1- Required Percentile for Interview Selection: 90 to 97 percent.

28 marks in GATE exam are quite low, but it depends upon the cut-off list, so check the cut off list and if you qualify then proceed to IIT BHU.

25 marks are required to clear the GATE exam for general category candidates. A 50 percent GATE score is required for M.Tech ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering) at R. V.
