Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering or GATE is a national-level entrance examination conducted once in a year in online. Aspirants have to participate in CEETA PG Counselling with a valid score in GATE. Besides, aspirants can also apply for admission in ME with CEETA PG scores.

Candidates only require GATE if they are applying for National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology Gorakhpur M.Tech programme. However, aspirants can apply for M.Tech even without GATE by providing institute or university level exam scores. The instiute conducts NIELIT Entrance Exam for O and A Level courses. For all other programmes, selection is merit-based.
