The GATE Biotechnology question paper consists of three types of questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Choice Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions. Candidates have to answer a total of 65 questions, which will be mainly based on GATE Biotechnology Syllabus 2025.The test papers will be in English. OBC candidates who want to appear in the GATE examination need to submit their category certificate at the time of registration. Yes, candidates who have a master's degree in any branch of Science/Engineering/Computer Applications/Statistics or equivalent are eligible for admission to MSc courses through the GATE exam. You can get admission in an MSc course in IIT after clearing the GATE exam. GATE scores are accepted by IITs for admission to postgraduate programs such as MSc, MTech and PhD.

The GATE examination is held only once a year. Generally, it is conducted on weekends for the convenience of aspirants in February. For the forthcoming academic year, the GATE 2025 exam is scheduled to take place on February 1, 2, 15 & 16, 2025.
