Two new subjects – Geomatics Engineering (GE) and Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (NM) are introduces in the syllabus. The total number of subjects in GATE 2025 exam has increased to 30. In another newly introduced change, students applying for GATE EXAM 2025 can also opt for two different papers from the prescribed set of combinations.The application form and information brochure has been released on its official website. The GATE 2025 application form was released on August 28, 2024 and the last date to submit the application form is September 26, 2024. As per the GATE 2025 information brochure, there is no change in the GATE exam pattern.

For the first paper, options include AE, AG, AR, BM, BT, CE, CH, CS, CY, DA, EC, EE, ES, EY, GE, GG, IN, and more. For the second paper, combinations include CE, ME, XE, CG, BT, IN, BM, XL, AE, AG, AR, ES, GE, NM, XE, PE, DA, EC, and more.In the GATE Second Paper Concept, the primary paper is related to the applicant's undergraduate engineering disciplines, while the secondary paper allows applicants to apply their knowledge in a related field. For instance, if an aspirant has graduated in electrical engineering, this becomes their primary paper.
