After doing M.Tech you can go for research of can apply for different jobs and if you have interest in business field then you must go for MBA i.e. you must give CAT and various other management exams. The best option according to me is that you start preparing for GATE 2019 and try to get AIR rank 200.

Do the groundwork. Always read standard textbooks once during your B.Tech or after your B.Tech, before writing GATE. Prepare good quality notes. Revision is the key. Use previous years' GATE questions as practice materials. Attempt 'lots' of mock tests.

Understand the GATE syllabus. Gather important resources. Start your preparation with dedication. Make revision notes. Start preparation of Maths first as it is easy to score and constitutes 15% of the syllabus.

There are some other ways to enter into a company. You can apply for off-campus examinations or interviews. You can regularly visit some sites which notifies you about different vacancies in companies. I am mentioning some below:
1. Glassdoor (https://www.glassdoor.co.in/index.htm)
2. Elitmus (https://www.elitmus.com/)
3. Naukri. Com
And there are a lot more.

It is very good that you start your preparation right from the first year of college. Two years of rigorous study have paid off, and you very well deserve a break. Studies include basics of every branch. Just observe everything, and make sure you want to get into technical side, i.e GATE / ESE. Second year usually has some important subjects, make sure you don't study them just for clearing the semesters, but for getting in depth knowledge. It is very tough to do that, but once you do that, it will pay you off very well 2 years later. In the 3rd year, join a coaching. Or, arrange some good study material and start serious preparations.
