Yes, you can surely opt for teaching Maths as a career. However, with a B.Tech/M.Tech degree, you can't teach Maths to post-secondary (after class 12th) students. In order to do so, you have to pursue M.Sc. In mathematics or you can even go for Ph.D. and end up being a professor teaching engineering undergrads. There's one more option, you can go for tutoring in private coaching classes as they don't really care about your degree if you are well versed in your discipline.

You have two option before you start, either to prepare your own or take coaching. Now according to me first one is the best. Coaching will be helpful only when your basic are not at all clear. First download the syllabus and then start preparing. You can refer to the following books:
Power electronics - P. S. Bhimhra
Power system - Nagrath kothari
Electrical machines - P. S. Bhimra
Networks - Valkenburg (Madeeasy notes are sufficient)
Control system - Madeeasy notes (B. S. make, nagrath kothari)

One Year and 4 hours daily is more then sufficient to prepare for the GATE. In the beigning select your weak and strong topics. Start from your strong topics as you need motivation in the beginning. So cover your strong subjects first then gradually move to the other subjects. Solve questions regularly. Be carefull while choosing the study material for the GATE. Do not be misguided for best books of GATE. Your text books of college are more then enough for the preparation and also no single book is sufficient for a subject. For basic understanding of subject go through the books you studied in your college, and if you have any doubt go

If you are in the last leg of your preparation, then I suggest taking any of the books from Arihant, Gk publications or CENGAGE learning and practice questions related to the topics. If you are in your 2nd year and want to learn in a crystal clear way, try reading all the basic textbooks for all the subjects. For engineering mathematics- Dr. B. S. Grewal
For network analysis- William Hayt's book
For Digital Electronics- Digital Logic Design by Morris M. Mano
For Electronic Devices and Circuits - book by Dr. Lal Kishore is preferrable. If you want a detailed explanation of all the GATE subjects go for the book written by Kishore Kashyap.

Well, for 2018, the eligibility score in B.Tech from biotechnology for GATE exam is 38.9 for general category, 35.0 for OBC category and 25.9 for SC/ST/PwD candidates. On the other hand, for TANCET there are different eligibilities for different courses if you are going to opt after B.Tech. For example, if you want to give TANCET to qualify for M.Tech in biotechnology, then the eligibility criteria is to pass in Bachelors degree with atleast 50% and 45% in case of reserved categories. Also, people except from professional institutions are eligible for TANCET in their final year or last semester.

Hello Radha Krishna, Yes, you can definitely clear GATE 2019, even though you are in the final year of EEE. There are plenty of students who are in the final year of engineering and appear for GATE. Now the syllabus for GATE is invariably the syllabus that is covered in the branch of engineering which you are studying. Hence there is not much different which is required to be studied. Of course the exam pattern is different and hence it is advisable if you can take some mock test for GATE before the actual exam. You can take this after completion of your examination for graduation so that you don't waste much time on giving the mock te
