NBA (National Board of Accreditation) AICTE, New Delhi has accredited M.Tech. (Electronics Design and Technology) courses NIELIT Gorakhpur is conducting M.Tech course since 2000. These courses are recognised by AICTE and affiliated to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. These are four-semester (2 years) course, which grooms students for a high profile career in design and development of electronic products and systems. The M.Tech. course commences in the month of August every year. Intake capacity is Eighteen (18) students per year and admission to SC/ST Candidates shall be as per Government Policy. In order to be considered for admission to NIT M.Tech programmes, candidates must first pass the GATE exam and then take part in the CCMT counselling procedure. A GATE score in the 500–600 range increases one's chances of getting into a prestigious NIT. The minimum GATE score required for admission to NIT is 350–400, while the maximum score rises to 800-850 every year. A GATE exam performance between the 500–600 point range is deemed satisfactory. A student generally cannot get admission into IITs for M.Tech. or Ph.D. programs through GATE if their CPI falls below the minimum eligibility criteria set by the specific department/program.GATE Qualification is Just One Step: While qualifying GATE is a crucial step for admission into M.Tech. and Ph.D. programs at IITs, it's not the sole criterion. IITs have minimum eligibility requirements in terms of CPI (Cumulative Performance Index) for each program. These vary depending on the department and category (General, OBC, SC/ST etc.).IITs Set Minimum CPI Cutoff: Each department at an IIT sets a minimum CPI cutoff for applicants shortlisted based on their GATE score.
