Yes, BITS Pilani admission is based on candidates' performance in GATE/ GPAT/ BITS HD entrance exams, except for ME in Software Systems. Admission to ME in Software Systems is conducted only through BITS Software System HD Online Test. Candidates seeking admission to BITS Pilani ME course must appear for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) which is scheduled from February 4 to February 12. No, GATE is not compulsory as a valid rank in CEED is also acceptable. GATE is just one of the criteria for selection. Hence, candidates without a GATE score can also apply. Apart from this, it is necessary for each aspirant to meet the eligibility requirements or else they shall not be able to pass the document verification round even if selected based on the entrance test score.

Candidates who wish to apply to the M.Tech programme must have a valid GATE score. Students are screened based on their CGPI in BE/BTech and GATE scores during COAP counselling. However, candidates who have completed their BTech from IITs with a CGPA of 8.0 and above can apply without GATE scores. These applications are reviewed by the respective department (s). Hence, the answer to this question is - yes, it is possible to get into IIT Patna without GATE for MTech.

GATE exams for M.Tech programme is out for admission to NIT Meghalaya. GATE registration had started and is available till Oct 13, with late fees. Candidates can dowload the GATE admit card from Jan 3, 2024 to Feb 2, 2024. The Gate exam is to be scheduled from Feb 3 to Feb 11, 2024. Candidates are required To register themselves by visiting the official GATE website.
