Yes, a BSc student can take the GATE Exam 2024. GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is open to candidates from various educational backgrounds, including BSc.10+2+3 is the required minimum education for applicants. Additionally, students who have completed their undergraduate degree programme or are in their third year of study may register for the GATE admission exam. In the past, candidates could only apply to one subject or discipline.To pursue MSc in biological Science you don't need to appear for GATE. GATE is conducted by IITs to offer courses into various M.Tech (Master's of Technology) degree courses. Both M.Tech and M.Sc (Masters of Science) is a two years duration course but MSc is a regular Course and M.Tech is an Engineering course. I hope you have understood. You can take admission into this course on the basis of Merit or by qualifying some entrance exam.

Yes, non-GATE applicants willing to get into M.Tech at IIT Gandhinagar are required to appear for the institute level entrance test. However, all candidates are required to appear for the Personal Interview round for final selection. In addition to this, BTech graduates from the IITs with CGPA/ CPI of 8.0 or above (on a scale of 10) are eligible to get admission to M.Tech at IIT Gandhinagar without GATE. Other than GATE or the criteria state above, candidates are required to be a pass in BE/ BTech/ MSc or equivalent in appropriate branches with a minimum of 55% aggregate or 5.5 on a 10-point scale (50% aggregate for SC /ST).
