Yes, it is possible to get admission to an M.Tech programme without GATE under certain circumstances. One such circumstance is if the candidate has a BTech degree / MSc (Math/Applied Math) degree from any IIT.  In general, the candidate must have earned a BTech/BE/MSc/Equivalent Degree in any discipline and must have already earned BTech/BE/MSc or, at least, should be in the final year of the respective studies. In the latter case, it would be assumed that the candidate will be able to complete the degree by the time of M.Tech admission.

No, candidates cannot get admission to the M.Tech program at IIT Dharwad without taking the GATE exam. Having a BTech or equivalent degree from IITs or a BS degree from IISc with a minimum CPI/CGPA of 8.0 on a scale of 0-10 only exempts them from the GATE score requirement for supernumerary seats. However, for regular admission to the M.Tech program, candidates need to meet the eligibility criteria of a minimum of 60% marks in their graduation and a valid GATE score in the relevant paper.

Yes, admission to MTech programmes offered by BITS Mesra is based on merit in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). The weightage of a GATE score is 80% and 20% is for academic performance. Moreover, candidates without a GATE score can also apply. For non-GATE candidates, the selection is based on academic performance and interview rounds (20% weightage to Interview and 80% weightage to Academic Performance).
