A candidate will most likely be allotted a centre in the examination city of his or her first choice. Only in cases where there are too many candidates opting for a certain city as their first choice, the other two choices become relevant. That is, candidates will have to choose the GATE exam cities for 2024 during the application process. The exam conducting authority will also allow the candidates to make changes to the earlier selected exam centres during the correction period without paying any additional fee. It is to be noted that the candidates of choice modification is free of cost and did not required to pay any fee for it, but the change of in some other details would cost students a fee as mentioned below:

Change of existing paper: 500
Add a second paper (from given combinations concerning the primary paper): 500 plus a suitable amount per paper for the candidates category
Change of gender to female: 500
Change of gender from female to any other gender: 500+850 = 1350

Change from Non-PwD to PwD: 500

- A high-quality image of a candidate's photograph conforming to the specified requirements (File size should be between 2KB and 200KB)

Check below for the details required to fill out the GATE 2024 application form: - Personal information should be required to be filled in, including name, date of birth, personal mobile number, parents' name, parents' mobile number, etc. It is to be noted that the name of the candidate in the application form must be the same as that in the qualifying degree Certificate (or) the Certificate issued by the Head of the Department or Institute in which the candidate is pursuing his/her study. Candidates will be required to log in again whenever they can get back online to check their payment status on the GOAPS website. If the payment is received, candidates can print their application form. If the payment was not received by GATE then he or she can also check the status of the transaction from the bank account. If the fee amount has been debited from his or her bank account but GOAPS does not acknowledge any fee payment, then the money will be credited back to their account. However, this may take a week or more after the closure of the application process. In such a situation, a candidate may initiate a fresh payment on GOAPS without waiting for the money to be credited back to the account. After completely filling out the GATE 2023 application form and submitting all the details, you will have to digitally sign and accept the GATE declaration, through which a candidate accepts that all the information provided by a candidate is true. If the declaration is not accepted, it may lead to the rejection of the application. If a candidate wants to check the GATE application status, he or she can log in to the GOAPS. Candidates need to enter their enrollment ID and password to check the application status. Also, "under scrutiny" or "under process' means that the application is still being scrutinised. No, a candidate does not need to send a printout of the GATE application form to the organising institute or any other GATE zonal offices. The application process for GATE 2023 is online and requires required documents, details that should be uploaded via the application process. It is required to keep a copy of the GATE application form for future reference. However, it is not required to send a hard copy of the GATE application form to the organising institute. When a candidate fill out the application form online then he or she have to pay the GATE 2024 application fee and the application-fee is non-refundable. Online Net-banking payment details are mentioned below:
- While submitting the GATE 2024 application form, the website used to redirect to an online payment gateway page. Candidates need to choose the bank or mode of payment on this page, after which they are redirected to the website of the bank of their choice. - Candidates need to pay the fee via net banking or a debit card or an e-challan. - When a candidate will try to pay the fee he or she will be shown the fee amount and bank charges. Then, they have to confirm that the payment is for GATE 2024. - After successful payment of the GATE 2024 application form, candidates will be redirected to the GATE online application website. - If a student comes across any difficulty due to an internet connection or power failure, etc. And they are not sure whether the payment is processed or not, they need to login back to GOAPS and check the status of the payment. While filling out the GATE application form, if a power cut or internet connection fails during the submission of the application process, the candidate has to get back online to the GATE 2024 website. That means a candidate has to log in again to the GOAPS website and continue the application process. GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. It is conducted annually.
