The GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) score is valid for three years from the year of release for M.Tech admission purposes. According to the sources, candidates seeking admission to M.Tech programs at IITs, NITs, etc., or a job at top PSUs in India require GATE scores to be eligible for application. Hello Anurup Roy, frankly speaking Bachelor of engineering in mechanical engineering stream is also one of the best that you are doing. Of course the emploibility of those with background of CSE is always better in the current scenario of the industry and the business. My opinion or suggestion would be to complete your Mechanical engineering with flying colours and then for post graduation you can switch over to this stream. Even otherwise after graduation you can do some courses which will take you into this stream of employment.
