Yes there is a priority difference. GATE candidates are exempted from answering TANCET. They are preferred first, seats priority will be given to them first. For all NOT GATE qualified students, entry into ME is based on TANCET exam conducted by Anna University.

If you are interested in pursuing a career in engineering or technology, GATE exam is the right choice. On the other hand, if you are interested in pursuing a career in Science, then IIT JAM is the better option for admission to IITs. GATE exam conducted by IITs and IISc and the Jam conducted by IITs. Here are some NITs that may offer admission for the CS/IT branch with a GATE score of 333 in OBC category, based on the previous year's cutoff:
NIT Calicut
NIT Goa
NIT Meghalaya
NIT Manipur
NIT Nagaland

There are a few universities in India that offer M.Tech admission without GATE or any entrance exam, based only on the marks obtained in B.Tech. Some of these universities are:
Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT)

Lovely Professional University (LPU)

The answer is no. BCA students are not eligible to apply for GATE. But if they are doing MCA after completing BCA then they are eligible for GATE exams.
