You should target Project Management as a career in that case, as General Management is more inclined towards strategy whereas the former is an Operations role.

There are different opportunities that you can consider after completing your post graduation in management. Right from managerial roles to consulting and even starting up your own venture, all these options are open for you after doing a PGDM course. Without specializations you not get the advantage as lie some other students but the door of opportunities will remain open. Hope this helps.
Good Luck.

Hello Raveendra,
First of all, since one of your seniors suggested about MBA in general management, so you should ask him/her regarding which B-schools to apply. Also, Google about MBA in general management regarding the advantages and disadvantages. But, my suggestion will be that if you have made up your mind in doing MBA, then why go for general management? If this helps you in your career, then it's fine but otherwise go for a full-fledged MBA course.

Choose general management. You might be having common subjects (which includes some finance subjects too) in 1st year, and then in 2nd year you can choose finance related subjects.
