With a rank of 27019 in the SC category, the chances of securing a seat for MD General Medicine in government colleges in Maharashtra are quite low. Admission to MD General Medicine typically requires a significantly higher rank due to high competition and limited seats. Government colleges often have cutoffs that are much lower than your rank, especially for reserved categories, but it varies each year based on the number of applicants and available seats. It is advisable to check the specific cutoff ranks from the previous years for the colleges you are interested in to get a clearer picture of your chances.

Yes, with a DM in cardiology, one acquires skill in the performance of procedures such as angiograms, angioplasties, and PTMCs. All these interventions involve introducing wires through the wrist or thigh up to the heart—very specialized skills that not all cardiologists possess. After DM, most cardiologists seek fellowships or FNB in Interventional Cardiology to learn and master these techniques.Further, to specialize as a Cardiac Surgeon, one needs an MS/DNB in General Surgery followed by an MCh/DNB in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
