Students from any stream, with or without Science, can enroll as a student in a GNM course. GNM, or General Nursing and Midwifery, is a course of 3 years and 6 months for those candidates who want to specialize in Clinical Nursing.Minimum requirement now being sought after in this course is Grade 12 from any stream with a minimum score of 40% in prerequisite tests. Candidates necessarily have to study English in their Class 12 curriculum as the only criterion.

Either they directly apply for admissions via Merit/10+2 qualifications or they can seek GNM Nursing Admissions via Entrance Examinations. Also, the basic eligibility criteria for GNM Admission is that students must pass class 12, with more than 40% having English as a subject of study. Furthermore, the GNM Nursing eligibility criteria may vary slightly from state to state.WB GNM Nursing Admission is done based on the WB ANM-GNM Entrance Exam. States like Kerala, Punjab, and Odisha conduct the GNM Admission Process based on a candidate's marks in their previous qualifying exam
