Yes, since you have completed B.Sc in biotechnology, you are definitely eligible for M.Sc degree in Geneti Engineering as it is a specialised branch in the same.

It solely depends on the colleges that provide this course. In case of governemt colleges there are no fixed seats as the government is increasing student intake every year. For private colleges there are lots of seats.

Master in Genetic Engineering: Eligibility: The applicants should have a Bachelor's degree under any registered University in respective subjects like Botany, Genetics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Molecular Biology and Biomedical Sciences in Science stream. Admission is Entrance base and on merit as well. Ph.D in Genetics is a 2 to 5 years doctorate level degree course.
