Career options in this field:
Since genetic engineering is a highly research-oriented field, Ph.D is imperative if you want to climb up the ladder at work. Ph.D graduates usually go on to do their postdoctoral training and join the university as professors or enter the industry as research scientists. You belong to biology background so firstly, B.Sc genetics and biotechnology is better for you but if you have interest in future technology and software development then you should go for BCA.

M.Sc. Genetics is a 2 year post graduate degree programme, the minimum eligibility is a Bachelors degree from a recognised institute or its equivalent exam.
