Eligibility for B.Sc in Genetics:
The basic criterion of eligibility needed to be met for admission to the course is a Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent qualification from a recognized educational Board, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as main subjects and a minimum aggregate score of 50%.
B.Sc. in Genetics: Admission Process
Admission to the course is based on the candidates performance at the 10+2 level. A few institutes however, shortlist students based on their performance in an additional entrance test conducted at their own level.

Selection of the graduate courses ( BE / B.Tech ) is based on merit i.e the marks secured in the final exams of 10+2 and through entrance exams. Entrance to the IIT's is through JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) and for other institutions through their own separate entrance exams and other state level and national level exams. Apart from the IIT's, some other famous institutes also recognize JEE scores for selection.
Currently, students do not have much choice when it comes to genetic engineering colleges. Please use the link provided below for a list of colleges which offer genetic engineering courses in India.

Major universities are admitting students to courses which are conducted by university's teaching departments through own entrance exams. Notification commonly released on March - April of every year. Please visit university's websites.
There are lots of self-financing colleges that offer B.Sc in genetics without entrance exams. The entry requirement is 12th with PCB.
