Geography offers several career options with numerous specializations.

-Survey
-Urban and Regional Planning
-Town Planning
-Remote Sensing
-Climate Change Analysis
-Geospatial Analyst
Depending on the area of specialization, geographers might work as forest managers or in agricultural or economic institutions or as demographers in govt. and research firms. A background of geography is also helpful for a successful career in the field of travel and tourism, particularly for travel Journalism. You can also work as climatologists, geomorphologists, GIS specialists, and hydrologists.
As mentioned above about the area of specialisations related to geography, I would justify the importance of pursuing a G degree in the same because a UG degree in geography gives you knowledge about all the fields associated with geography but a specialisation course in the stream of your choice will make you an expert and will help you in fetching more specific and highly paid jobs in the industry

In India, you have limitless opportunities if you have done your Masters in Geography. Geography is a very vast and diverse combination of many subjects. In this course, you have to study and analyze spatial phenomena, land management, conservation, resource management and extraction, urban planning, development work, etc. Hence with these skills and command on subject matter one can apply for ES SO (Earth System Science Organisation). There is good demand for the faculty posts too. Other than this many government vacancies are available in different departments like forest services, petroleum industries, etc. The best option is teaching where you can pursue PhD and earn a big chunk of money simultaneously. But again, the opportunities also depend upon 'your quality'. How and from where you pursued your course also matters. So, try to be focused on learning about career and job opportunities as well.

There are almost 10 colleges in the University of Delhi which offers BA Geography Hons. They are Kirori Mal College (KMC), Miranda House, Dyal Singh College, Kamala Nehru College, Bhagat Singh College (morning), Bhagat Singh College (evening), Shivaji College, Aditi Mahavidyalaya, B R Ambedkar College and Swami Shraddhanand College but we can't judge between them because every college has some pros and cons. In KiroriMal and Miranda college, the cut-off is very high to get admission but in Bhagat Singh, you may find some good faculties for geography. So it all depends on you that on what parameters you compare the colleges. Hope this helps.
