Yes and no. In the end, you have to sit through rounds and rounds of tech interviews which eventually comes down to your own knowledge rather than the degree you hold. Yes, if the prof you wrote your thesis under has contacts in India, or is well known in the academic circle, and if she/he is willing to help you, then you might bypass a few of the interview rounds. No, It's not mandatory to have work experience, but yes if you have any work experience then it gives you more chance to get admission. So, if you have any work experience, it is good but not compulsory.

It is required. It can be waived if the university allows you to do so. You have to write directly to the university and ask for waivers. It can be waived off if you have a very strong profile and have completed your studies from an English medium institute. Write to the university.
