Candidates seeking admission to the BCom programme offered at the University must meet the minimum eligibility criteria. GITAM Visakhapatnam BCom eligibility criteria is that candidates must have passed the Class 12 or equivalent examination with at least 60% aggregate or six CGPA (55% aggregate in the case of CBSE, ICSE, ISCSE, IGSCE, and IB) in any discipline from a recognised Central/ State Board or its equivalent.

GITAM Visakhapatnam extends scholarships to the BCom programme students who appea for the GAT, with fee concessions up to 100%.  The institution has mainly five scholarship slabs, presented in the form of 100%, 75%, 50%, 25% and 15% tuition and fee waivers. However, the schemes such as Employee Children Scholarships (60%, 40% and 20% waivers), Loyalty Scholarships (10% waiver) and Sports Scholarships offer rather an unconventional amount of fee waivers. The eligibility criteria for GITAM M.Tech require candidates to have a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination from a recognised University. Additionally, candidates must obtain a score in GAT (Engineering PG) 2024.
