Hi,
I am also an engineer and this is misconception about the MBA - Finance and Engineering. Engineers are more likely to go higher than any non engineer in MBA Finance because we guys study it from beginning and have great basics skills developed after MBA in Finance whereas Non Engineers don't focus on basic. Secondly, It will be sure difficult as portion for study but not impossible. I have asked many Finance Corporate about this everyone said that they will prefer engineers because of Technical, analytical and Mathematical skills. Usually foreign language courses are not very much present in Indian education system. You need to take it from private institute or if you are lucky certain universities have it with very limited quota for admission India.
Now coming to your question, yes you can take foreign language course without having much prior knowledge in that language but you have to start with some basics and then gradually progress with advance as they don't have any stern criteria for admission.
